Crunching the Numbers...

So I kept track of a few things this year. Just wanted to see what crazy things I did and what it all stacked up to be. The motivator... States of course. The word... Focused.

You have to remember that this was my first 100 and I was scared to death. I had run Waldo twice and that is a good challange. Probably the third hardest 100k in the states. (H.U.R.T. and Hellgate being the other harder ones.) But it was still only 66.36 miles, not 100.

I had written down my goals Janurary 3rd, 2006. I still have them hanging on the peg board at work. I didn't get my goal of 12 weeks of 100+ miles a week. Tore my Vastus Medialis early March. Grade 1 tear thank goodness. (small white line close to the bone on the right side of the picture.)(SEE KYLY'S NASTY TEAR OF HER HAMSTRING IN PREVIOUS ENTRY!!!)

Did get in 10 weeks of 100+ and three weeks of 90+ and two weeks of rest with 75+. Eight races leading up to States. DFL three times!!! (didn't care, remember the goal)

So, here are some crazy stupid stats for this year. No, I am not a Hot Newman, LB, Bili, G.M., O.D. French Kiss, White Trash, Olga or the stud of them all...Delicate Flower. I am new to this ultra thing. (those initials are nicknames of real ultra studs!!!) Yes, one of them is my brother. Guess which one?

Nice mileage numbers! Damn that hammie tear in your previous post looks gruesome! Have a great year of running!

Per your comment to me I need all the points I can get since I'm working in a deficit!

Dang! I didn't know I was supposed to keep track of things like peanut butter tortillas and comments from friends. I could've counted emails from Rob, but I just recently cleaned out the deleted files.

I'm going to pretend I didn't see that dollar figure for the build up to States...

Hmmm, I am not sure my numbers compare. You ran about the same amount of mileage in 6 months as I did in the entire year. I guess this explains my slower times. Maybe I should keep track of bananas eaten for the year. I eat about 3-4 a day. That would be a good stat.

Your number crunching is hilarious! Now how much of that did you just make up? ; ) Nevertheless you had an awesome year!

Sorry about Kyly's hamstring! That looks terrible and I'm sure it feels just as bad.

Really, I didn't make up any of it. I am just so type "A" that the list was easy.

Have a great year!!!

More gu and more blog entries this year! We, the bloggers, demand action!
:) My only puzzle is "miles driven to trails" - I am too lazy to look at the odometer. The rest is easy. Although I didn't keep track of this type of things, figuring them out would be piece of cake.
I wonder about French Kiss and Delicate Flower...me think it might be a name popular amongst guys:)

French Kiss is an ultra STUD FEMALE RUNNER!!!!!!!!!!!! We actually don't know how she got the name. Have to ask W.T. on that one. Delicate Flower is dreaming if that name really fits her... All in good fun mind you.

All names were given by a group besides G.M. and Delicate Flower. Giving ones own nickname is not the norm and frowned upon.

Oh, I say "gu" in the generic way. I use Crank products like Olga which each packet has 50% more of the slimmy stuff.

But we all know what we are talking about when we say "gu", that is why I say that term

Best Wishes ON DOUBLING the toe nails lost for 2007' but give that knee some rest first...
